ABOUT VINYL REVOLUTION

Welcome to Vinyl Revolution!  We are a young independent business founded by former professional musician  Simon Parker and his partner Rachel Lowe.

Music is our passion and we love sharing it. Music always sounds better on a record so vinyl is what we sell. But we're not just about vinyl records. Vinyl Revolution was created to celebrate music and the artists who make it and we have our own range of unique Art Prints, Clothing and Home Stuff with designs featuring iconic music images and quotes from musicians.

Green and ethical

We care deeply about the planet and work hard to ensure that Vinyl Revolution operates in an ethical and sustainable way. We are very careful about where our products come from and use manufacturers with a whole host of ethical and environmental manufacturing accreditations. We keep packaging down to a minimum and use biodegradable, recyclable (and often re-cycled) packaging materials.

We love what we do and we hope that you will too!

Our History

Vinyl Revolution launched in October 2016 with a 3 month pop-up shop in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The top photo shows founders Simon and Rachel with their dog Treacle outside the shop where it all started.  They loved every minute in Tunbridge Wells and it came to an end all too quickly. Highlights included crowds queueing down the road to see Paul Young and his band playing live in the shop and The Guardian featuring one of our t-shirts in their Christmas Gift Guide just after we started trading.

In July 2017 we opened a stunning shop near the seafont in Brighton, East Sussex. There were too many highlights to list here but they included live in-store performances from Slow Readers Club, Ginger Wildheart and We Are Scientists. Vinyl Revolution was voted best indie record store by The Independent and we took part in two incredible Record Store Days.

Here's a video of our first Record Store Day in April 2018 - it was an absolute blast and beautifully sums up the spirit of Vinyl Revolution!

Unfortunately shocking High Street retail conditions proved too much for us and we were forced to close the doors of our young Brighton store. But all was not lost because we also sold online and hosted pop-ups and events which we continue to do. Here's a few photos of Vinyl Revolution at our favourite pop up venues.

We've crammed a lot into a short time but you ain't seen nothing yet! We have very exciting plans for 2021 so make sure that you don't miss out by signing up for our newsletter and follow us on social media.

Treacle

Although we trade as Vinyl Revolution our registered company name is Treacle Ltd. Treacle is the name of our dog and a very important member of the Vinyl Revolution team.  Here she is on the home page of the UK Official Charts website!
